ON THE ISSUE OF AESTHETIC CRITERIA FOR EVALUATING TECHNICAL SYSTEMS

This article contains an analysis of the role of aesthetic evaluation of technical objects on the example of automation and dispatching systems. It is shown that the aesthetic value in scientific and technical knowledge, as in other types of knowledge, is not subjective. It has objective reasons which include unity, harmony of parts as a whole, simplicity, logical hardness and others.As a result, aesthetic evaluation can be used as a criterion for the effectiveness of engineering solutions and the functionality of technical systems.

HYBRID TEACHING OF RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AND «SPEECH DEVELOPMENT» ISSUES AT A1-A2 LEVELS

The article is devoted to the problem of the organization of hybrid teaching of Russian as a foreign language at the levels A1-A2. The author characterizes the specifics features of the parallel combination of online learning with full-time, describes its conditions and identifies difficulties.

IRONIC STATEMENT AS AN INDIRECT SPEECH TACTICS: ON POLITICAL DISCOURSE BASIS

The article is devoted to the study of the irony multifunctional nature on English political discourse basis. The author considers irony as an expressive speech act reflecting emotional reactions to the situation and associated with the psychological attitude of the speaker.The research carried out gives us grounds to assert that the analyzed speech acts, as an indirect tactics of a producer intention express a number of functions, viz. attractive and persuasive ones, speech behavior intensification.

FEATURES OF THE PRONUNCIATION NORM CODIFICATION IN GERMAN ORTHOEPIC DICTIONARIES

The article presents some linguistic concepts of well-known linguists regarding the definition of the literary language, the correlation of the language norm and its variation, the interaction of orthoepic and orthographic norms. It is noted that the orthoepic dictionary of the German language is a fundamental work of the scientific normalizIng activity of German phoneticians. The pronunciation trends of the normalization of the German literary language, formed during the 18th - 21st centuries, are presented.

THE MAIN FEATURES OF REGISTERING PRONUNCIATION VARIANTS IN THE 3rd EDITION OF THE OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY ONLINE (OED)

The article analyzes the main features of registering variant characteristics of English vowels and consonants, as well as of the suprasegmental means in the 3rd edition of the Oxford English Dictionary Online. A new notation for indicating pronunciation in British and American English is considered in detail and, according to the phonetic editors of the dictionary, transformational phenomena in the articulation of a number of phonemes are also presented.

EVOLUTION OF THE PHONETIC TRANSCRIPTION SYSTEM IN THE OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY (OED)

The article, based on the material of three editions of the authoritative Oxford English Dictionary, examines some evolutionary features of the pronunciation representation system in this general dictionary, which in recent years has gained extraordinary popularity after publishing of the online edition. TO THE HISTORY OF PHONETICS OF UNIVERSALS (rhythmic aspect)

Problems of searching for universals, types and specific properties of the language system have been in the focus of attention of linguists for many years. Universals are explicated on all modules of language and speech. One of the striking characteristics that mark the identity of the language system is the rhythm of speech. The material for the analysis deals with the results of research in the field of verbal rhythmology and phonetic science.

EXPERIMENTS ON PERCEPTION OF ENGLISH ORAL TEXTS (ROLE OF THE LINGUISTIC CODE IN FORMING ITS AXIOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT)

The paper discusses the results of a psychometric experiment on axiological assessment of the linguistic code (intonation, voice qualities and diction of the speakers) of texts of different genres with participation of subjects.
