SOME ASPECTS OF ETHNOMETHODICS IN TEACHING RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO INDIAN STUDENTS

The article analyzes the features of teaching Indian students Russian as a foreign language, taking into account the linguistic, sociocultural characteristics of these students. The role of ethnomethodics in teaching Russian as a foreign language is considered.The influence of linguistic and extralinguistic factors on the education of students from India in Russian higher education institutions is studied.

THE COURSE “SOCIAL AND POLITICAL TEXTS IN ENGLISH”: BREAKING THE STEREOTYPES IN TEACH-ING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The purpose of this article is to consider the structure of the course “Social and Political Texts in English” addressed to the students of the International Relations Department, School of History, Ivanovo State University. The peculiarities of teaching this subject, the target audience of which are foreign students, are discussed. The most effective methods of teaching such students are given. The teaching process is based on cross-cultural communication with special emphasis on ethnic and cultural stereotypes.

MODERNIZATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION AS A FACTOR OF INNOVATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The need to provide a new level of professional education for graduates of Russian universities is accompanied by increased requirements for the quality of mass foreign language training for non-linguistic students. The purpose of the article is to analyze the weaknesses and strengths of modern language training, to consider possible options for modernizing the system of foreign language education in non-linguistic universities. The data of experimental training of students of Petrozavodsk State University in a unified foreign-language educational environment are presented.

SOVIET AND AMERICAN FILM PRODUCTIONS OF 1940’s — EARLY 1950’s: MEDIA-TEXTURAL DISCOURSE OF THE «COLD WAR»

The aim of this work is to study Soviet and American film policy at the initial stage of the «Cold War». The source base consists of original, first introduced into academic circulation or little-known archival data — paperwork, organizational and administrative documentation, as well as audiovisual materials, media texts — motion pictures. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was composed of comparative-historical, historical-genetic and historical-typological methods, the principles of historicism, scientific objectivity.

RENAISSANCE HUMANISM AGAINST THE MEDIEVAL IDEA OF "SENILITY OF THE WORLD"

The article deals with a little-studied aspect of the relationship between Medieval and Renaissanceworldviews, which coexisted in the XIV‑XVI centuries in the Christian West. Medieval consciousness was based on the idea of the "senility of the world" and its near death, the moral, intellectual and physical degradation of mankind. Such idea was contrary to anthropology and historical optimism of humanists.

OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS AS A CULTURAL TEXT: "PERSONAL FILE" OF V. EROFEEV AS AN INDICATOR OF BEHAVIORAL STRATEGIES OF THE UNIVERSITY INTELLIGENTSIA OF THE EARLY 1960s.

On the materials of official documents ("Personal file" of a student of the Vladimir state pedagogical Institute V.V. Erofeev — a future famous writer), behavioural strategies of the University intelligentsia of the "thaw" period are studied. The author proves that this thematic documentary complex is a multi- layered text of culture that arose at the intersection of various ideological and discursive strategies of historical, cultural and socio-political contexts.

THEATRICAL TEXT IN RUSSIAN CULTURE OF THE FIRST THIRD OF THE XIX CENTURY

The article comprehends the modern methodology of studying the theatrical process, based on the theoretical concepts of "theatrical text", "theatrical discourse", theatrical communication, etc. The specific material shows the effectiveness of using current methodological tools for analyzing the historical theatrical process.

QUALITY MARK: THE STATE EMBLEM VIEW ON THE RUSSIAN MANUFACTURERS PRODUCTS IN THE XIX — EARLY XX CENTURIES

The article discusses some aspects of the Royal Household Purveyors Institute origin and development, its influence on the quality assurance system in the Russian Empire and the country's economy development. The paper focuses on the Russian Empire state emblem use on industrial enterprises labels and trademarks. It is considered to be one of the products quality control ways. The Russian Empire state emblem use made great contribution to the national economy development. It helped to endorse the high level of Russian industrial enterprises manufacturing process management.

GAMES PLAYED BY CULTURES

In the article, the author defines the game as a semiotic system. The components of the game are considered, the concept of “culture”, “cultural area” is comprehended and the specific features of the game of cultures are highlighted. According to the author, the results of the study of the interaction of cultures and cultural zones (areas) are the suggestion to use the mechanism of a game as a form of ordering of being.

THE CRISIS OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES AS A PHILOSOPHY PROBLEM

The article deals with the causes of the crisis situation that arose in social and humanities knowledge in the last quarter of the XXth century. The author substantiates the point that the essence of the crisis is the absolutization of the ideas of irrationality, subjectivity and relativity of knowledge, which are characteristic of non-classical science. This ideal is in contradiction with the classical ideal of scientific knowledge.
