TEMPORAL CONSTITUENT OF THE CONTEMPORARY EDUCATION: AN AXIOLOGICAL ASPECT

The article aims to examine the limitations of the «spatial-environmental» approach to education and the perception of time in terms of its instrumental and measuring meaning. The author reveals the role of temporal constituent in education, its influence on shaping the foundation of educational models regarded in the process of their transformation. Temporal components are considered in terms of their informative-communicative, existential-ontological and historical-epistemological dimensions that define certain value hierarchies of contemporary education.

LINGUOCULTURAL APPROACH TO THE STUDY OF LANGUAGE IN ITS MULTIDIMENSIONALITY

The article, devoted to the review of the main directions and results of the research activities of the Russian language department of the ISTU, substantiates the relevance of studying the Russian language from the standpoint of linguoculturology as a complex and interdisciplinary science, analyzes the results of the work done, and outlines prospects. Teachers of the department are actively developing not only theoretical, but also applied aspects of the relationship of language and culture, language and thinking, language and society.

MODELS OF INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AS A CONTEMPORARY METHOD OF TRAINING COMPETITIVE SPECIALISTS

The paper describes the technique of organizing and holding the role play "Model of international organizations," which contributes to high-level training of students and preparing them for professional activities and successful competition in the labor market. Data for study were taken from the examples of interstate and intergovernmental international organizations and legal authorities simulations.

THE IMPACT OF STEREOTYPES ON RUSSIAN STUDENTS' PERCEPTION OF GERMAN LANGUAGE AND GERMAN CULTURE

The article discusses issues related to the perceptions of technical University students about the target language country (Germany), a survey to identify and evaluate cultural competence of students is conducted. The answers received confirm the need to familiarize students with different aspects of life in the country of the language being studied. The active use of authentic country studies texts and various means of visual and audiovisual visibility in the lessons will help students to learn more about the socio-cultural reality of the country, to enrich the background knowledge.

LINGUO-DIDACTITIC POTENTIAL OF MODERN BUSINESS DISCOURSE

The current research describes the methodology of using electronic messages and texting as a part of case technologies in teaching cross-cultural business communication. The peculiarities of the means of electronic communication in both Russian and English languages in a specific language sphere, namely in business communication, are taken into consideration.

THE ROLE OF CULTURAL DIALOGUE IN CONTENT OF EDUCATIONAL SPACE

The article deals with the need to focus the educational process on the needs of a multicultural society and the formation of students' knowledge that is the basis of intercultural communication. According to the tasks facing future specialists, the goals of preparing students for their future successful professional activities are determined. The aims are dictated by the need to find a balance between professional and linguistic education.

THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN RUSSIAN ACADEMIC ENVI-RONMENT: BASIC TRENDS AND FEATURES OF FUNCTIONING AND PERCEPTION

The paper discusses some current issues related to the dissemination and perception of English among Russian academe as a medium of international scholarly communication. The content of the paper is based on the available statistical data and the author’s experience of teaching English for academic communication to postgraduates and master students. Particular attention is paid to the sociolinguistic characteristics of a foreign language proficiency and levels of competence characteristic for students and lecturers in various types of speech activity.

СULTURE OF SPEECH AS A COMPONENT OF GENERAL SPEECH CULTURE

The article is devoted to the formation of the academic speech culture of a technical University postgraduates. The author's goal is to describe the forms of work with scientific texts that contribute to the culture of speech formationin general and academic speech in particular. The research methodology is based on the idea of the text as an integral speech work, which is a structural and semantic unity, as well as on the idea of the inseparable connection between the culture of academic speech and the general culture of speech of a person.

LANGUAGE AREA STUDIES AS PART OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDIES: LEXICOGRAPHIC ASPECT

This article aims to prove that learning a foreign language as a means of communication is impossible without learning the cultural and social life of the country of the language being studied. Acquaintance with the world of native speakers contributes to understanding the peculiarities of speech construction, additional sense loads, political, historical, cultural connotations of words and statements.
