The article deals with the need to focus the educational process on the needs of a multicultural society and the formation of students' knowledge that is the basis of intercultural communication. According to the tasks facing future specialists, the goals of preparing students for their future successful professional activities are determined. The aims are dictated by the need to find a balance between professional and linguistic education. The task of teachers is not only to train a competitive specialist in the field of professional competence, but also to form his/her multicultural competence. These tasks involve research on the level of the method of theoretical analysis of scientific literature using the methodology of teaching foreign languages, generalization of best practices in teaching foreign languages. To achieve this goal, the following tasks are set: to identify the main mission of university graduates, to determine the group of skills needed by a qualified specialist, to emphasize the crucial role of the linguistic and regional aspect in teaching foreign languages.
