The article examines the features of the modern education system, the professional activity of a teacher that is impossible outside the information space. The functional and methodological capabilities of digital tools and services, electronic educational resources, educational platforms, websites and portals for the effective interaction of university teachers with students of pedagogy analyzed. The Information and communication competence of a teacher (his readiness to select and adapt ready-made educational solutions, the ability to develop copyright educational resources or fill digital templates in applications with his/her own content) is a fundamental factor in the success of pedagogical activities in a digital society
