The article aims to examine the student - teacher interoperability in the context of transformation of university education in the contemporary world. The virtual interaction is regarded as a catalyst of controversial tendencies of education revealed at ontological, ethics and pedagogical, as well as methodological levels. The author focuses on the ambiguity of changing educational attitudes to the horizontal dimension, shaping new formats of the responsibility and confidence of the subjects of education resulted in the transforming concepts of knowledge and truth. At the same time, the author emphasizes the fundamental “likeness” of virtual interaction to modern university due to its openness and a research orientation.
