The article discusses the characteristics of distance teaching a foreign language using free Internet resources to students of non-linguistic faculties in a bachelor’s programme. The analysis of the main difficulties in teaching listening, speaking and writing at the level of words, statements and text using Internet resources providing the process of learning a foreign language is carried out. The basic principles of structuring educational material depending on the degree of readiness of the student, as well as active teaching methods, including the method of transition from internal speech to external, logical organization of utterance and the method of Paul Pimsler are considered
