INTERNET LEARNING RESOURCES IN THE PROCESS OF EDUCATION (BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF STUDY-GUIDES TO THE OLD ENGLISH POEM “BEOWULF”)

The article discusses Internet resources and electronic publications, such as Beowulf in Hypertext, Gutenberg E-book of Beowulf, Beowulf in Cyper-space, CliffsNotes, Old English Aerobics, as well as K. Kiernan's "Electronic Beowulf", created for independent reading and studying the Old English poem "Beowulf". Particular attention is paid to the educational aspects of these electronic and Internet manuals.

Key words: Old English epic literature, Beowulf, electronic edition, learning resource, self-study, distance learning.

VISUALIZATION IN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE: CHALLENGES OF TIME AND DIGITALIZATION

The paper considers the important role of such a complex mental activity as visualization in relation to challenge of the time and the consequences of digitalization. The history of the issue is briefly stated on the basis of domestic and foreign approaches. The paper contains examples of various types of speech activity including visualization as a means of effective presentation, perception and interpretation of educational and scientific information (in lectures presentations, student speeches, research papers and their digital abstracts).

METHODS OF INTERACTIVE LEARNING OF RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE UNDER DISTANT LEARNING

The implementation of the educational process in context of the pandemic demanded new forms of its organization. The article justifies the need to use interactive methods in distant learning of Russian as a foreign language. The advantages of these techniques that allow to intensify student activities are shown.

MULTIMODAL PRINCIPLE IN ORGANIZATION OF LESSON IN RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN AT LANGUAGE LEVELS A1-A2

The article discusses the advantage of the multimodal principle in the organization of distance learning of the Russian language as a foreign language at A1-A2 levels. The author demonstrates how polycode lesson content is formed by mixing multimodal learning objects that combine various sign codes of a verbal and non-verbal nature. Due to this, the teaching discourse of the lesson becomes a visual, semantic and structural whole, which provides a comprehensive pragmatic impact on students.

USING ONLINE BOARD PADLET TO DEVELOP WRITTEN COMMUNICATION IN GERMAN LANGUAGE CLASSES

The article describes the ways of using online board Padlet to develop written communication of undergraduate students who study German as a second foreign language. Online boards are an effective alternative to chalk boards, which have the following benefits: multi-format, confidentiality, remote access during distance classes.

MOBILE APPS FOR GENERATION Z

The main objective of the paper is to describe the use of mobile apps in education. The authors discuss the characteristic features of Generation Z. They also point out that it is necessary to use the blended learning approach to take into account individual characteristics and needs of the new generation of students. The article gives a brief description of different models of blended or hybrid learning technology, introduces its pros and cons and demonstrates the experience and results of its use by the foreign researchers.

DIGITAL ONLINE TOOLS FOR LEARNING PROFESSIONAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE VOCABULARY: TEACHER'S STRATEGY, STUDENTS' OPPORTUNITIES

The article raises the problem of using digital online tools and resources in language training of technical specialists. The elements of popular content and language integrated learning (CLIL) are presented, which make it possible to implement innovative online platforms. The possible modes of working with the Quizlet online resource are analyzed in detail, taking into account the peculiarities of training foreign language vocabulary at each stage.

PARTICIPATION IN DISTANCE COMPETITIONS AND ONLINE ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF DEVELOPING STUDENT LEARNING MOTIVATION (EXEMPLIFIED BY IVANOVO STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS)

The article examines the participation of Ivanovo State University students in distance-format activities (Olympiads, contests, festivals, online presentations). The authors note that participation in such events contributes to the development of educational motivation, communicative skills, creative competencies, and predicting independent actions. It is emphasized that intellectual competitions on various topics and project activities are effective forms of self-realization and self-improvement of students in the modern world.

DIGITAL STORIES AS A METHOD FOR INTEGRATION OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE (THE EXPERIENCE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTICS OF ISUCT)

TThe article deals with the methodological developments of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics of ISUCT in the use of Digital Stories as a means of integrating foreign language knowledge. The authors express the opinion that digital projects as a new tool in teaching experience can significantly motivate technical students to study a foreign language and to apply it as a means of international everyday communication..

THE DISCREDITING STRATEGY IN BRITISH BREXIT DIS-COURSE

This paper is a part of the research which focuses on the study of discursive construction of British national identity. The paper aims to reveal what linguistic means are used within the discrediting strategy in the speeches by British politicians. The data include speeches by British politicians retrieved from the official websites of the campaigns “Vote Leave” and “Britain Stronger in Europe”. The study draws on techniques of critical discourse analysis.
